We are sure that this question already crossed your mind and your guests.  One of the biggest question is, who pays for what at a destination wedding.  But you are in luck.  We will give you a simple guide to find exactly who should pay for what….let’s keep on reading to see the break down.  Keep in mind, it is the same rule as if you are having your wedding in your hometown.
•The Couple- Couples maybe paying the wedding, however parents may pay or pitch in.  Traditionally rehearsal dinners are paid for by the couple or parents may also share the expense.  This also goes with the venue and other expenses such as flowers, cake, and the vendor.  You are not obligated to pay for guests’ rooms and travel.  In order to help out, we can assist the couple getting group rates.  If you decide to host a pre-wedding/welcome dinner at destination, you are expected to shoulder the cost.
•Excursions and other activities- It is in good taste to at least pay for one activity. You are responsible for organizing activities, however, if an activity is optional, then any guests that would like to participate will pay on their own.  If you can afford it, it is a nice gesture to pay at least for daily breakfast.
•Your Valued Guests-  Since your guests are already spending for travel, it is only common courtesy to not expect gifts.  A token is absolutely appreciated.  Your guests will pay for their travel, lodging and incidentals, food, shopping, and any optional activities. Included with the list are their attires, make up and accessories   For guests, do not invite someone else without notifying the couple and their approval.
•Your Valued Vendors- If you are flying any vendors, it is expected that the couple will pay for their travel and meals.

Let’s face it, getting engaged is every woman’s dream!  We dream about the proposal, the ring, the perfect dress, and of course how you will say “YES”.  It is the biggest moment of your life.  Sit back and let’s take a peak of these celebrity proposals.
  • Kate Middleton and Prince William- The Prince proposed to the future Duchess with Princess’ Diana’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring. while they were on a 10-day African safari in Kenya
  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry- Royalty as it is, there is something charming about this two and a low-key proposal. The couple were preparing dinner together and Prince Harry was not able to contain his excitement by getting down on one knee and asked Meghan for her hand in marriage while they were cooking.
  • Amal and George Clooney- George explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he cannot get Amal to sit still long enough for him to propose so he asked her to light a candle and reach for the box of matches behind her. "She pulls it out and she looks at it and she's like, 'It's a ring'—like as if somebody had left it there some other time!"
  • Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady-  Tom surprised Gisele with a proposal on Christmas Eve of 2008 for a private plane ride with champagne and roses.   The best surprise with this is that Tom has invited Gisele’s parents to witness the proposal.
  • Jada and Will Smith- There is nothing extravagant with this couple’s proposal.   The couple was getting ready to sleep and Will looked at Jada and casually said that they maybe good married. Totally unplanned with no ring but Jada said “yes”.
  • Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy- Maksim took the opportunity to do a grand proposal after a performance at “Dancing With The Stars”.  Maksim got down on one knee and proposed to Peta onstage in front of a live audience.
Whatever your ideal wedding proposal maybe, there is no right or wrong way.  Take photos of the proposal and make your announcement!

Choosing the right wedding dress can enhance your figure and cinch you in the waist.  Read on to see which dress will enhance your figure.
Hourglass- Marilyn Monroe and Raquel Welch are famous for their hourglass womanly curves.  This shape tends agree with many styles of dress.  Best picks are gowns with fitted bodice, fishtail skirts, and sweetheart necklines
Apple-  A famous apple-shaped celebrity is Catherine Zeta Jones and Oprah Winfrey.  This shape tends to be heavier on the waist. Pick a dress that has a pleated bodice according to Wedding Ideas.
Pear-  Jennifer Lopez has a classic pear-shaped body.  This shape tends to be heavy on the hips and thighs.  To enhance the figure of the waist, it is the experts’ recommendation to pick a gown with a full skirt and a sweetheart neckline.
Reverse Pear or Inverted Triangle-  Renee Zellweger is amongst of the celebrities with an inverted triangle shape.  This shape tends to be heavy on the bust with smaller hips and legs.  Top picks to enhance the shape of the body are fitted bodice gowns, shoulder straps to secure the bust area and match with fuller skirt.
Petite Body Type-  If you are wondering what would fit well for a petite woman?  Recommendation is to avoid a gown that is too detailed.  Pick a simple, fitted dress or a trumpet style gown or with an empire waist gown to create illusion of height.  Plus Size Body Type-  If you have a plus size body shape, it is best to pick asymmetrical dresses.  Scoop neck and v necklines will do just great and enhance the top part of the body.
Bonus Tips:  Choose the right under garment, never choose a dress because it is on trend, and do not look at the dress size. Pick that fits you well and stop stressing, after all that is just a number.
Which dress is your pick?

Here are some inspiration for your vow renewal to help capture the special event.  Are you ready?
An Affair To Remember- Vow renewals are perfect to capture the whole family.  Candid shots are the best!   Have your daughter dress like you and your son suit up like dad
Timeline of Your Life- create a display of your love story with the most important milestones.
Fun Theme- Pick a theme for your renewal that truly reflects the fun side of you, something that means to you
Recreate that Special Moment- Recreate a cherished moment for your vow renewal, it could be a favorite photo on your wedding
Reject the traditional wedding dances.  Why not do a father/daughter and mother/son dance – but with your own kids instead.

Can’t Afford A Destination Wedding?  It Is Affordable Than You Think!

Destination weddings are far cheaper than traditional weddings which can cost at least $60,000.   How is destination wedding cheaper?   Let us dive in.
•Talk about your budget early to set yourselves up for success and avoid frustrations.  Determining what you can spend on your day ensures that you have enough money for much needed items.  Following your budget prevents you from having debts.
•Choose a major airport. You and your guests will have more options on flights and will avoid potential risks of delays due to connecting flights. Take advantage of resort offering discounted shuttle rates for large groups
•Package it and book early; be flexible.  Choosing a destination wedding during off season (October, November, and December) can lead to lower rates when resorts are starting to go back up but not hit their peak season yet.  Weather during this time is not hot and humid and your wedding party will enjoy that it is not crowded.
•Stick to smaller guest list- While big wedding seem grand, it is not for everyone. For those of who want to spend their special day with their closest friends, destination wedding is the answer.  If desired, you can host another party at home for those that will not be able to make it but there is no expectations to haul hundreds of your friends and relatives, just the ones that are closest to you.  Intimate weddings are budget friendly and it allows the couple to think be creative a little with your event choices.  Most destination wedding has an average group of 25.
•Consider keeping a small bridal party which makes your wedding intimate.  Limit to adults only, limit plus one, keep it to your closest and keep it private.
•Let the destination dictate your attire.  Typically shorter, light weight dresses are cheaper
•No need for extra decorations and your guests can admire the breath-taking view of the captivating coastline and magnificent sunset as your backdrop.  All you need to do is surrender to the island’s charm.
•It is a wedding and a honeymoon in one
•Most guest prefer all-inclusive resorts.  You are already on location to start your honeymoon right away. The bride and groom will be able to relax before the wedding and enjoy the festivities.   With few days before and after the ceremony, you and your guests can enjoy activities and group excursions.  Also some guests may welcome the chance for a mini vacation combined with the wedding.  Instead of having only a day to celebrate, think of it as an extended celebration.  Not only you are saving for venue fees but will cut down on transportation.
•Other Options:

Consider avoiding Saturday weddings which are traditionally priced higher.  You can choose the 2pm cake and champagne reception which brings the cost tremendously.
Consider cupcakes instead of a fancy wedding cake without compromising your style and it offers more variety and creativity.  Pro tip:  cupcakes eliminates cutting fee!  It is also easier to serve.
Which ideas will you incorporate and add to the list? Tell us in the comments below!

Are You Stressing Over The Wedding Process?   Can You Relate?

There is no doubt that planning can be overwhelming. Of course, you want it all done perfectly and on schedule; after all it is your wedding we are talking about.  You are busy with the demands at work, trying to keep the household together and in today’s world, 8 hours is not enough to plan your wedding. Your family and friends are also busy.  This is the biggest worries amongst brides.   Good news is, my specialty is helping busy couples, just like you who are struggling to connect the dots with all the requirements for a worry-free, Destination Wedding.
Stay Organized- It is our job to help you stay organize and this means, less stress.  We suggest that our brides keep a specific folder in their email for any correspondences then by vendor as a sub-category.  This will help you find everything easy.   Let others help you.   People are normally generous with their time and wanted to help.  Sit down, have a glass of wine and let your sister help create a label for your invitation envelopes or task her to help create the escort cards.
Have “Fun Days” dedicated every week- Remove yourself from the wedding planning once a week just so you can recharge. Treat yourself to a massage or facial, a walk in the park, read a good book or just some “me” time when no one is talking about the wedding.   Check our next blog on 8 Tricks On How to Calm Your Nerves
Avoid confrontations- Once you announce that you are engaged; you will be bombarded with advice and for sure, even with the best intentions at heart, there will be times when you do not want to hear them.    Smile, and politely remind everyone that you appreciate the advice and leave it at that…then immediately change the topic.
