![]() We have heard this question pop up so many times when we secure weddings at an adult only venue or clients deciding for whatever personal reasons to host an adult only wedding. Adult-only weddings are more often than not the couple is referencing the actual reception itself. If you have decided on adults -only, do not take exceptions and be clear right away and make sure to include it in your wedding website. You can also opt in addition to your invitation and website to spread the word by asking your bridal party and family to help spread the word. Be prepared to have difficult conversations and you can say why it is adults-only. Maybe it is budget constraints, or the venue is adult-centric or has limited space. If you are worried that guests with kids will be offended, here are classy ways to say "Sorry, adult-only." The immediate way to allude to an adult-only wedding is in your invitation. Addressing the envelope properly will get your point across. It is etiquette for the guest to understand that the only people listed on the envelope are invited. Outer Envelope: Mr. and Mrs. Michael Smith Inner Envelope: Mike and Sandy You may also mention on your reception card "intimate ceremony" if you want to be extra clear, here are some wordings to use. "Dearest friends and family, our wedding reception is for adults only. We thank you for respecting this request and look forward to celebrating with you." Simple & Sweet: "Join us for an adult reception at six o'clock" " Please celebrate with us at an adults-only reception immediately following the ceremony" "We love your kids but thought you might like a night off. Adults only please." "Adult (18 and older) reception to follow." Limited Space: "While we adore your children, our venue space is limited, adults only please." "Regrettably our chosen venue is unable to accommodate children. Professional babysitting will be provided at the ___." Family Nieces and Nephews Only: "Children of immediate family only please." "Respectfully, an adult occassion." The Takeaway You are hosting the most memorable event in your lives that is adult-driven and while you do not want to offend any of your guest, there is a classy way to communicate that your event is an adult-only wedding. A great guest experience and having more time to spend with everyone are just some of the reasons why more couples are choosing to have smaller weddings. Not to mention the cost savings.
If you are planning to elope or will have less than 30 people at your wedding, here is how to get the best photos on the day: 1. Add a Special Touch Whether it’s a hand-crafted backdrop for your ceremony, a serenading musician, or an ice-cream cart, special touches make your photos more personal and memorable. And having a smaller wedding means there’s a better chance of you having some extra budget to spare for these personalized touches 2. Be Flexible. You might have a few ideas in mind as you plan your wedding photos, but this doesn’t mean these ideas are all possible. Being more flexible means you could end up with truly special wedding photos. Be open to your photographer’s suggestions. They will always keep your overall vision in mind, but the execution of the photos might be slightly different than what you imagined. 3. Change Up the Format. When you have fewer guests, there’s no need to follow the traditional wedding timeline. If need be, arrange for key photos to be taken at the best times of the day. There are no rules that say you can’t take your couple’s portraits in the early morning light instead of after your ceremony. Design your day in a way that gives you the best photo opportunities and more time to spend with your guests. 4. Have an Adventure. If you plan to elope, or you have a small enough wedding, take your wedding to a fun place such as a theme park or the countryside. Having an adventure leaves room for fun, candid shots that you will remember forever. Plus, you get to involve more of your guests in your photos, which they will appreciate too. Once you place your trust in a wedding photographer, have fun and go with the flow, you won’t be disappointed with the results. Have fun, you want your special moment well captured. Share us your thoughts. Splurge or to Save?
We highy recommend hiring a professional hairstylist and make up artist on your wedding day. Set up a consultation and trial so you can have a feel of your overall look on your actual day. These professionals may cost extra but it is worth it since the make up artist will ensure that your makeup stays all day and that every strand of your hair is in place and know all the tricks. Average cost of wedding make up in 2021 was $115. These professionals will generally bring their own cosmetics and prep your skin for an airbrush makeup look or a natural suble countour. You deserved to be pampered and hiring a professional makeup artist and stylist is a great way to start a stress free wedding day. Share your thoughts; we would like to hear from you. |
